Overall impact

Launched on Amazon.com for both iOS and Android for the 10-foot experience (TV)

Monthly active users: 552,366 (still growing) - 500,000 MAU was our target goal for 2025

OPS increasing to $40.2K MoM (+171.5%)

My contributions

Sole designer in designing and creating Amazon’s first companion experience for the TV from 0-1 (FAST Channel Experience) and expanded to co-leading in building out the Shop-The-Show experience.

Spearheaded designs + ideas alongside Principal Designer to launch Shop-The-Show experience.

Still ongoing with new ways to better build partnerships with Prime Video and other big brands. Notable brands include: NASCAR, NFL, NBA, WNBA, NWSL, Outsidelands

TL;DR context

Amazon has been looking to grow the creator space through the use of live shopping content. With additional partnerships that happened internally, we’re proud to announce that Amazon’s expansion in the shoppable video space will now integrate with Prime Video and Freevee to further bring customers to shop at the tip of the fingers, and remote.

The problem

Vendors across the Internet sell merch and other items to help in promoting your favorite celebrity, sports team, or even shows you love.

How do we bring that to your phone to convert it into a one-stop-shop experience?

With Amazon constantly growing in the entertainment space over at Prime Video, there has been a common theme amongst viewers:

“I want what they are wearing.”

“I want that jersey.”

“How do I get to look like that?”

img

Taylor

When I watched The Summer I Turned Pretty, I immediately thought to myself, “where do I go to find the official merch?”

img

Steven

I’m typically a collector when it comes to things I’m particularly interested in, so it would be cool to have a place to go to shop and collect while watching a show!

img

Momo

You’re telling me that there’s a chance for me to finally shop for “The Boys” merch?!

The solution

Through various partnerships with Amazon Prime Video, Shop the Show helps to deliver a one-of-a-kind technology to deliver customer-first experiences that allow viewers to simultaneously watch and shop their favorite shows, movies, and live sports events without having to stop.

I’ve designed the journey in making sure that customers are able to find all their favorite shows + movies to be accessed on one central placement.

Results

Since launching Shop-the-Show, the program was able to achieve:

March 2025

  • 131.6K T3M (Trailing 3 Months) MAU (Monthly Active Users) in March, representing significant growth of +190.5%MoM and 286% versus Q4’24 T3M
  • In March, we dialed-up our first traffic-driving experiment, the "Shop previously watched" widget in mShop Me Tab, accounting for 81% of STS MAU
  • Separately, we saw growth across multiple Prime Video channels: Explore Tab placements expanded to 5 new titles driving MAU from 11.5K to 17.6K (+53%)
  • Pause Ad campaign generated 7.6MM impressions with search redirects increasing from 1.6K to 7.1K (+325%, 0.09% CTR), and Mobile Modal traffic grew from 5K to 18.8K (+276%) with the new Reacher campaign
  • Financial performance remains strong with OPS increasing to $40.2K MoM (+171.5%), tracking with our MAU growth and aligns with our financial projections

Takeaways

Since expanding upon the idea of what FAST Channel Experience was initially able to offer, it was amazing to see how far this product was able to grow and how much excitement is building up across the Advertising organization regarding this product. With our SVP, Paul Kotas, as well as Andy Jassy, CEO, being heavily involved in our internal meetings, seeing the design and development be showcased to leadership was really enjoyable to see.

As we continue to find ways to further combat other problems to tackle in this space, I’m hoping that additional partnerships later down the line will allow for this program to continue growing.
